So I have two ideas...
I really like Cindy Sherman. (if anyone went to the art 21 screening on wednesday, you can understand why, if you didn't go YOU SHOULD HAVE BECAUSE YOU'RE MISSING OUT) I like how she transforms herself into different characters...
I'm also inspired by a shoot on aAmerica's Next Top Model a few cycles ago when each contestant had to act and look like a male and a female, and they combined both shots. (specifically they were celebrity couples) which was really cool.
So I would prefer to shoot a person; I like the warehouse idea/putting people juxtaposed with setting and or outfit but I don't want to use someone else's idea so..
OR
I could d the whole nature taking over or becoming a part of what we create like I talked about in class...
Thoughts? Opinions? Criticisms?

My opinion, at this level none of us need to worry about "copying" others' ideas. I think that trying to recreate or emulate great work is the best way to learn. Both of those ideas sound very cool...just go for it.
ReplyDeleteI love that episode of ANTM. I think the idea of playing with others' perception of yourself is really interesting because if you put yourself in a photo, I feel like you are typically telling your viewer "This is me" but in some cases this is not the case. I think it adds a level of complexity to a photo and might be interesting/fun to explore.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Mariel, I love those episodes of ANTM, so personally I'm inclined to that. I agree, I feel it'd be your opportunity to toy with your audience and manipulate their perceptions of you. I think it'd also be interesting what photos and part of the "transition" from someone going from one perception to another, I feel you could definitely play around with that.
