First of all, I admire you for trying to recreate an ad featuring Freddie Ljungberg. You did an awesome job with the pose/outfit and I think the attitude/feel of your picture is identical to the original. Well done. The only negative/not positive feedback that I have is that it's not Freddie; I'm mostly joking but kind of serious. I think the lighting is particularly interesting because of how it hits/highlights his muscles which is less obvious in your image. I am guessing that's because Freddie's chest is waxed and spritzed with a waterbottle or something, which is probably unrealistic to ask your friend to do for this project.
I think overall you were very successful with replicating this ad. I feel you definitely successfully replicated the feel of it, with the choice of clothing and body stance of your model, and I feel that you maintained the same lighting as the original ad. As Mariel mentioned, the same highlighting isn't quite there but I feel you maintained the overall same grey tones and have the same effect as the original.
thanks guys :). i did this with an external flash in the hallway of bryant because i couldn't get into the lighting studio (would probably have more highlights then)...will probably do more like it before the semester is out. kirslyn
the lighting is just spot-on. just a posture comment- i would have maybe asked your model to position his head a little further down to match that of the original model, but other than that, the replica is highly impressive. i usually love giving constructive criticism, but there's not lot to criticize here. excellent job :) -kara
I think you did a pretty good job recreating this picture. The real photo definitely has like a whole crew to do his make-up n make him look nice. So I think you did a good job for what you had and what your friend was willing to do. Nice!

I also agree that you've done an amazing job of re-creating the feeling that the original ad has. I'm impressed.
