I thought this picture itself was interesting, but also Tori's comment. I also noticed that there is a lack of focal point, I think partly because there isn't a lot of contrast between the foreground (the post thing) and the background (the building.) Also, my eye naturally looks at the building in the back because 1. There is a lot of contrast with the columns, 2. I recognize it as Cleveland Hall, and 3. It takes up most of the frame. That being said, the "post thing" is 1. In focus and 2. The closest element of the photograph. Because of these conflicting "focus grabbers," I am forced to work as a viewer, which I kind of like.
This is a really cool photo, I don't know where to focus when looking at it.
